OEZYS IS

Born from the depths of shared grief and sorrow, Oezys is a band based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Named after the goddess of despair and depression, the band channels raw emotional darkness into a sound both crushing and atmospheric — earning them the fitting descriptor of "Gloom Metal."

Oezys was brought into existence by vocalist Kaine Magdalen, whose vision of music rooted in melancholy and loss laid the foundation for what the band would become. That vision fully took shape when Magdalen joined forces with drummer E.M. Hearst, whose powerful and deliberate rhythms gave the project its heartbeat, as well as fulfilling its creative foundation. The lineup was completed with the addition of Don Miller on bass, Jerry Lovett on guitar, and Brian Davis on Mellotron and piano — an instrument whose haunting, otherworldly tones prove integral to the band's atmospheric and deeply cinematic sound.

Together, Oezys craft music that does not shy away from the darker corners of human experience. Their sound is dense, brooding, and intentional — an exploration of grief not as something to be overcome, but as something to be felt fully. With their sights set on bringing their vision to the world, Oezys are poised to carve out a singular space in heavy music.
